Residential Septic Installation Guide
Environmental Health Department - Your local environmental health department should be your starting point. They will tell you all the requirements for your specific location. Most likely they will refer you to a soil classifier to perform a perk test, which is step 2 in the guide.
Soil Test (Perk Test) - A certified soil classifier must perform a Level 3 soil map and evaluation. This will determine soil suitability, which will help determine location and design for your septic system. The State of Georgia has a list available online for all certified soil classifiers, this list can be found on the State’s Department of Public Health website. Your local Environmental Health Department can also send you a copy of this list.
Permit - Once the permit fee is paid, and after receiving your Level 3 soil map, the local Environmental Health Department can issue a permit for the new septic system. The local Environmental Health Department may have some questions about the site, and may conduct a site visit prior to issuing the permit.
Site Visit and Quote - Once a permit is issued, we will conduct a site visit and begin planning the septic system design and layout. This site visit and planning stage along with the permit, allows us to know what the installation will require. At this point we can provide you with a free septic installation quote.
Scheduling and Installation - After you have approved our quote, we will add you to our installation schedule. Our expert team will then install your new septic system.
We hope this short guide has helped you understand the process of having a septic system installed on your property. If you have any questions, need guidance, or would like a free quote, contact us at 706-591-5536.
